The Team

We've got our eyes on you.
(Seriously, try moving away from your computer — we’re still watching.)

What happens when you take eye health specialists, vision correction experts and fashion gurus and mix thoroughly? You get the recipe for Downtown Vision. We’re full-service eye care providers and fully committed to providing you with an awesome experience.

The Downtown Vision team includes three full-time optometrists (doctors who help you see well), one retired-but-still-pitches-in optometrist, four opticians (matchmakers for you and the perfect frames), optometric technicians (they’re everywhere doing everything to support the team and our patients), contact lens fitters (people who help you put your finger in your eye – correctly) and other friendly and skilled support staff. That’s an entire team committed to helping you see well and look your best.

Discovering your career path from an early age is a rare thing these days, but for Dr. Ann Cardona, the seed of becoming an Optometrist was planted early following an eye exam at the age of 9. It was through personal experience of wearing glasses/contact lenses — combined with the genuine curiosity of understanding how the visual system truly works — that sparked into a career choice and a passion.

Dr. Troy Ogden wants to make a difference in people’s lives and absolutely lights up when interacting with others. So on the eve of his 30th birthday — when he found himself in a cubicle, doing technical phone support for a company that made precision fluid measuring devices — he knew something had to change. Then, as luck would have it, his dad’s glasses broke.

Dr. Miko Yokoi’s adventurous spirit is evident in the ways she spends her free time — scuba diving, snowshoeing, camping, and cycling — and in the ways she pursued her optometry education. Dr. Yokoi began her education at Colby College in Maine, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry-Biochemistry. She earned her Doctor of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, before spending a year doing clinical rotation across the United States.

For more than 42 years, Dr. Ed Angelini has been the face of Downtown Vision — and a smiling face at that! “Eddie” from the Bronx (Etorre if you check his birth certificate) moved to Reno when he was 16. He attended the University of Nevada, Reno for his undergraduate degree and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. Dr. Angelini returned home to Reno at the age of 26 to begin his practice.
